VA has slim pickings on the role model category. If we were looking for traitors and oppressors we are chock-full. |
Innovation Elementary just sounds so cheesy. What is wrong with Clarendon or Courthouse? |
So cheesy. Just name it after the neighborhood or the street (Key, right?). |
I like Gateway, though I can see how that could get confusing if an event is billed as being at Gateway Park and you could get the elementary school playground instead of the park in Rosslyn. I guess Innovation is as good as it gets out of the 5 options. Courthouse Elementary does make the most sense overall. |
They want it to sound on par with a school that has Science in the name. |
They should just give them numbers like they do in NYC. Would be better than "Innovation" or "Discovery". |
It's currently named Key, but that causes confusion because it's Key Immersion, but the immersion school is moving. So you can't keep it named Key. I will agree it's super cheesy. I think naming it Clarendon or Courthouse for the neighborhood would make more sense. Or let's start naming them after trees or something. Dogwood or Cardinal or something else. |
+1 Don’t know why we need a “name”. Numbers would work. |
They should name it Nat Turner Elementary. |
I like this name. He was a great and courageous freedom fighter who should be recognized more. |
OK, but now it sounds like some sort of moral virtue name, as though we're taking our cue on naming from 17th century Puritans. |
Well, Arlington does excel at flamboyant displays of virtue. |
Suck it, Robert E Lee worshipers. |
Who was "Veitch"? Can we name it Veitch? |
You are laughably far off the mark. |
