Me too for sure. Lost weight last spring, gaining now. |
| OP here. I was prompted to post this after I read a recent article in the Atlantic where the author said she had lost and gained 30 lbs within the span of the pandemic. I can't imagine these kinds of huge shifts. Losing even 10 lbs is a huge deal for me. I have always been 25-30 lbs overweight my whole life because I like food. The irony is that my gym closed and I am not working out at home. When I was breastfeeding and working I also did not have time to workout but besides those times I have been a regular gym exerciser my whole life--the fit but fat kind. This just really drives home the idea that weight loss happens in the kitchen. By the end of the day with DL my anxiety just ramps up and I can't eat. I've never had any kind of mental health problems (and I"m sure working out contributed to that) but now I have no way to shed the stress. |
I'm the same way - fit but somewhat overweight, also been on Paxil forever so that contributes. I work out every day - mostly Peloton - and don't really weigh myself but I doubt I've lost much. I'm usually ok to eat dinner but early in the day I struggle with depression etc. |

I'm a couple lbs heavier. I am exercising more in terms of walking but less movement during the day. I am eating more actual meals since I am not on the run all the time, skipping meals or having a coffee instead of lunch. Instead I cook a real dinner every night for the family (or take out once/night) and they dont eat salad and fish for dinner. and, lets not kid ourselves, the nightly cocktail doesn't exactly help either.
But honestly, I'm surviving. That's what matters right now. We are all getting through this, and it takes work, I dont take it for granted. |
| If I am happy, if I am sad, if I am mad...I'm eating. |
| I gained and lost about 10 lbs this year. First part of pandemic was spent pulling out rich comfort recipes I don’t usually have time to make. My kids were in heaven. Then, couldn’t seem to drop a pound despite my diet going back to normal until my DH got COVID and I dropped five pounds in just over a week from stress. Miraculously was able to keep it off and continue losing the healthy way after that. |
