Aside from the philosophical debate, the real question is what this means for Bethesda, Potomac and Soccerplex. If this is interpreted as masks at all times for soccer games, they are in big trouble.
There's also currently a 25 person gathering limit, which has been interpreted per field, so you can't even have more than 10 on a team with coaches and ref. That's how MSI has interpreted it. And no spectators. That will have to change before the seasons start up as well for anything more than 7 v. 7. |
Any intel on intended applications to youth sports now, namely soccer? |
+1 The gathering limit is more of a problem than the masks. If teams have to wear masks to play in MoCo, that doesn't necessarily mean "big trouble", as there are definitely many kids who are getting used to playing in masks. My children play in very lightweight, breathable masks when they are required to wear them, which I guess isn't really that protective but meets the requirement. I think most high school sports teams in VA are requiring it. But with the gathering limit, there's no way to have a real soccer game. |
| Forcing a soccer player to wear a face covering is asinine and child abuse. There is no scientific nor logical way to defend that obtuse and brain dead mandate. |
While I’m not saying I agree or disagree with the mask mandate, no one is forcing you or your DC a to play soccer. If you think it’s child abuse, don’t let your DC play soccer. And if you’re in VA, just don’t play games that are in MD. There are thousands of kids in Maryland that are playing with masks on with no problems. |
Yeah but those thousands of kids aren’t good nor competitive soooo |
So in addition to saving our lives, are you now claiming they make you into better soccer players? Just kidding. |
| ^— misread it |
Got it. So hopefully you are just kidding as well. |
