Yay!!! Another thread on the same topic. If only your kids were this adamant about their work and education maybe, just maybe, their grades wouldn’t be so phenomenal. |
Yes, your disdain for our children and your chosen profession has been made abundantly clear. |
It’s easy to complain and moan and b!tch. It’s not easy to put in the work, overcome the challenges and face adversities head on. Kids around here are born with the silver platter up their arse. Then their feelings are hurt when they’re told that no you cannot become another gender and that getting a C+ or B- isn’t going to end your life. |
Thank you for reiterating my point. You are not suited to work with children. |
“The Fairfax County School Board and elected leaders in Virginia need to start listening to science and start listening to all of the teachers, not just one special interest group claiming to represent us.
It’s time to return to the classroom.” Funny. Not that long ago I was called a bully on this forum for asking teachers to speak up for kids and against FEA if it did not reflect their views. Hmmm... so...why now? Is it finally OK to speak up in the WaPo after the new admin makes it a 100 day priority to get kids back in person? Don’t get me wrong, I love the article. It is awesome, in fact. It’s just that it seems these from words from this source (a teacher) appears to have been actively suppressed, at least publicly, for A LONG TIME. Just goes to show. Politics is king in this town. |
You do realize that hybrid is the parent choice, not the teacher choice, right? |
What happened? Teachers are now getting vaccinated. That goes a LONG way to making a lot of them (I assume, I am not a teacher) feel better about going back to work in person. Teaching remotely doesn't seem like much fun to me, but I have a 2nd grader and I watch every day as my kid's FCPS struggles to keep the kids focused. More than half don't even turn their cameras on anymore. And these are 8-year-olds. |
Also, I am more confident the CDC is allowed to do science now. Competence matters. A generation ago, both parties were competent. Now, not so much. |
Yes very brave to write this when a return to school plan returning kids in weeks in every system in this region has already been approved . So brave. |
It is a troll. How are you all not better at recognizing them by now. |
Could it be that you weren't "asking" that your message was intertwined with a bunch of negative comments like: lazy teacher, etc. It's not always the underlying message but it's how you say it. |
I think you're right. Coming on an anonymous forum and making a rude, sarcastic comment is so much braver. |
No they can’t. Then kids will get sick. Or bring home to families who aren’t yet vaccinated. We still need masks and distancing at school. |
She’s saying “we need to open!!” Only now that she knows opening is happening. That’s not bravery. |
+1 As a parent I completely agree. I would add **AND YOU AS PARENTS** to your sentence. Furthermore, I completely disagree with and disapprove of the teacher's opinion. She is wrong for not recognizing that many teachers have family needs that require the teachers to prioritize the heath of their own family over the desire of some people to send their kids to school in person during a pandemic. She is being used as a pawn and it is sad. |
