They could just switch back like they did in March. That's how my child's private school does it - they've quarantined (just the class, not the whole school) once and took inauguration day off and just switched to online for those days. |
I have APS middle schoolers. They have relationships with many of their teachers this year. Some of them surprisingly strong. I am glad they don’t have to leave their teacher just cause we chose DL. This is not ideal, but prefer it to abruptly changing teachers. It’s been rough enough. These teachers are amazing and are a wonderful presence in my kids’ life through this madness. |
Yeah if it’s the whole class but I mean what if it’s just my kids . The class will continue in person |
My friend’s daughter was in a concurrent school and they both loved it. |
If you care, then don't do anything outside of school and it won't be an issue. |
Thank you for saying something positive about teachers. |
I don’t! But my kids will have to go to aftercare so yeah, there’s a scenario where they could get exposed there and quarantine but their class wouldn’t. Jeez. Don’t be such an a-hole. |
I think everyone agrees with the bolded. |
Please explain what concurrent learning is? |
Some kids stay home and log in. Some kids come to the classroom . We teach both groups at the exact same time. |
Would this impact the way the teacher would normally teach a class? In other words, could you teach as you would normally, and those at home are basically just watching from their computer? |
The teacher will teach us they normally have done on DL. There won't be as much of them moving around and using different parts of the classroom because of mitigation strategies and the fact that the kids at home need to observe the instruction as well. |
It’s DL from inside the building. In other words, dumb shit |
You don't get to decide that for every else. Some kids want it, and they get to choose. Your kid can stay home. |
It’s far worse, since the teacher has to split their attention between in-person and online students. It’s the worst of both worlds, and that’s if the tech all works! |
