It's ok, OP, I'm with you. I needed something to distract me from the election last year and WSB it was. I have a notional goal of 1k gain a day with my play money. I'm ahead of the goal so far for 2021, but obviously know it can end at any time. Obv don't play with any money you aren't prepared to lose. Most folks here are more conservative.

Lol. You are going to have to cite some statistics on that.

Because I can sell at any time with a stock. Gambling at a casino is a binary proposition. I lose it all or gain. I can at least cash out a stock before a lose it all. Plus, even if I lose, guess what? I still get a tax write off for losing on a stock, so in reality, I really come out with a push if I write my losses off against my taxes.

So no statistics then? You are more than welcome to invest in this way, but don't pretend that you have the data to prove it is any different than gambling. You sound like an addict, btw.

P.S. You can only deduct $3000 of capital losses each year on your taxes.

Otherwise it's hard to get without at least $25K per daytrade.

Not recently. Lots of opportunities for larger than 4% daily gains.

Buy options occasionally but have lots of things going. Not saying I always realize the gain - sometimes I do - but looking at the year to date gains to average 1k a day. Agree with pp that there are a lot of runners at the moment.
