| Hogan knows the teachers' union will not endorse him in 2024 either way. So he is priming the parents. |
|
Hogan is very partisan. I would like a leader that can actually deliver what he promises. |
| How about for president? |
I get it. You are a binary regressive. If you believed in two party government, you would be able to see that he did a great job a head of the governor's association and in leadership through the pandemic. |
No. Just because a state does not have single party rule, does not mean it has a good governor. That's ridiculous. Do you think the Purple Line is a success? Do you think a good leader tells people they can get the Covid vaccine, when they can't, because that same leader has not sent enough doses to the counties (and that may not be his fault, but he needs to be honest)? |
+1 |
OP here - sure, that would be great but I can't see it happening. I'd prefer he remain our governor for many more years. |
I mean, you're right that he has no formal official power to make it happen. But its also naive to think he can't use his bully pulpit to effect change. He can. And, through the use of punitive measures, he can leverage that bully pulpit even more. There's more than one way to skin a cat and his power doesn't end with what's strictly written in the law. But I think you already know that; you just want schools to stay closed. |
| Hogan says what people want to hear but does nothing to achieve what people want. Republicans are thrilled this blue state has a GOP governor and Democrats are fools if they believe he is competent. Actions speak louder than words people. |
Also, the virus doesn't decide anything. That's just silly. |
| It's so ridiculous to give him credit for this. He wanted schools open in the fall. Did his press conferences make one bean of difference on this? Nope. Will this press conference make a difference? Probably not. |
| If I announce I plan to sue school systems that don't open tomorrow, can I run for president too? |
| I especially love his mealy mouthed and milquetoast response to the first few years of trumpism and until finally, years overdue, he pretended to grow a spine (but still wrote in Lincoln instead of voting for Biden!) more of this moral courage needed, for sure |
No, even worse than that, he wrote in Reagan. |
