DP - not trapped at home here - but only outdoor play with friends for my kids since March.

The reality is that a lot of people in this area don't do outdoor activities when it gets below freezing

Outdoors, fire pit, cocoa and smores. Not that hard. Montgomery County even rents out campfire rings now in certain parks if you don't have a yard.

May I suggest a simple outdoor party with no more than 6-7 close friends. Ask for the parents to drop off to limit the numbers and ask everyone to wear a mask. Have the girls do some outdoor activities and send them home with a goodies bag with a cupcake or treats. Limit the party to an hour.

I wouldn't do indoors or outdoors - kind of like green eggs and ham - until we all get vaccinated.
