Handbag trends for spring?

I like the D/B handbag in white, but in terms of a brand or "image" it is maligned by the more "urban" types as very surburban, not hip, ala Coach. Buy what you like.

"Urban" type here and I don't think Coach is particularly hip.

Generally, what I do is go on the website of a very high-end store, like Saks or Neiman's and then find similar styles for less elsewhere. E.g.

I just looked at those and none rock my world except for the Burberry, which are out of my price range. So I guess I just need to sit back and relax with my suburban outlook on life. Which is fine. No use in trying to be something I'm not.

To the poster who asked about D&B, in general I think people should get the type of handbag that they like but I have to admit in general I don't equate Coach or D&B as particularly hip brands. If you want a handbag that is a little more modern I like Kooba and Rebecca Minkoff bags. They are generally around $500-$600 range but you can often find them at end of the year sales for less than $200. But again this all depends on your personal style.

I'm the white handbag poster and have been lusting for a Kooba for awhile. I need something professional for the work week so a seatbelt bag won't work. But I usually don't switch bags on weekends and need to be concerned about taking something with me to playdates or the park. Okay, I really shouldn't be taking new white Kooba to the park, so I guess I'd have to switch bags, at least while it is new.

A white handbag would not be appropriate for the office or for a biz wardrobe. It says "vacation" or "Miami Beach" much more so than "professional." And if you wear darker tones, it will really appear out of place against your outfit.

I would also suggest two handbags - one for casual play and one for biz. Few bags can work for both.

My God. Why on earth would you pay that much for a freaking purse? Donate the money to Haiti if you want to feel good about yourself.

I got one that looks like that from Nine West last year and I love it. However, since it's red I use it as a fall bag.

I am totally uncool and even I think D&B bags are kind of Vera Bradley like.

Look up the "Purseket." It's incredible. I change purses all the time and I literally pull it out and drop it in the new bag. That's it. No fishing around the purse to make sure you got everything or trying to reorganize.

Interesting. I'm that Dooney poster and love Dooney because it's just a solid color (at least the ones I like are). Vera Bradley gives me a headache.

In any event, I guess I'll be very happy yet uncool when I pick this bag up (waiting for the sales).

Sigh. I literally just placed an order on Bluefly for a red (Rebecca Minkoff nikki) bag. Can I please use it all year?!

Red can be worn all year, pp! It's a great accent color for just about anything you wear. Enjoy your purchase when it comes!

If that's all I had to worry about.....
