Omni Homestead vs. Omni Bedford Springs vs. Nemacolin vs. Greenbrier vs. ???

I've stayed at Homestead and Nemacolin and I would say Nemacolin felt more high end.

This.

None of these places are resort towns, your staffing choices are slim. And it always shows in the service. Yes you will get one or two people who genuinely get it and care. But for there are nuances to high end hospitality that can’t be taught.

The creepiest thing about the Homestead is all the wait staff and servants are black.

I stay at similar places (Ritz, Four Seasons, Autograph collection). Of the ones you listed, the Chateau side of Nemacolin is the most similar. I really enjoyed it along with the spa.

Drive a little farther and go to the Sanctuary in Kiawah or the Cloister in Sea Island.

Off all of them, the Omni Bedford Springs is the least like the Ritz.

The Homestead was a big disappointment, I fo mot recommemd and I tend to stay at Marriott

It's in the middle of nowhere and there's not much in the town if you don't like the resort food. Besides the pools/spa I didn't feel like there was a lot to do.

The Inn at Perry Cabin is a good suggestion, if you want to be near the water.

For Nemacolin, I prefer the Falling Rock, but its farther from the amenities- more for an adult escape than a family trip. The Chateau is fun with a family- lots and lots to explore. They had a scavenger hunt that was a lot of fun (and actually sort of difficult).

I wasn't impressed with the Greenbrier.

Primland Resort in VA is also a nice option. We've really enjoyed it.

Maybe Williamsburg Inn or Four Seasons in Baltimore?

Np here. We drove all the way down to Kiawah this summer and it was not worth it. I was really disappointed. Maybe Sea Island is better.

You get a butler at the Chateau at Nemocolin, so there's that. Their spa is really good. but a ritz it is not!

Nemacolin is so freaking tacky I am shocked that it is on the same list as the Greenbrier!

I've been to all of them and I love the Greenbrier. But I've been going there since i was a kid. I like Bedford Springs second -- it's charming. Homestead next -- I like it. But to me, it's just not the Greenbrier. Last place Nemacolin. I don't get that place.

I've been to plenty of Ritzs/St. Regis and I far prefer the Greenbrier -- it's original. Lewisburg has some good restaurants too -- check out the French Goat.
