No. The 14 day average has to get over 10% for 5 consecutive days.

And it was 8.5 yesterday.
Are they using Ba or Loudoun county %positive cases??? Loudoun was 9.1 according to VHD yesterday. I’d like to just get ahead of the possibility the kids will go virtual just for family planning aspect of things but it looks like that won’t be until after break.

Where are you getting this information? According to the VA Dept of Health, the positivity rates for Fairfax and Loudoun were under 9%. And the cases per 100K were in the 390s for Fairfax and 320s for Loudoun.

LCPS uses a 14-day average whereas the VDH uses a 7-day average. So that's why the numbers do not match up. Additionally, the 14-day average needs to be above 10% for 5 consecutive school days to trigger the return to DL.

I am assuming we are in until winter break, or maybe we end up DL for those last two days before break starts.

The metrics today that LCPS uses (both 14 day average) are 329/100,000 and 8.8% PCR

Which, as you’ve been warned, will trigger the DL. But, no one is stopping you from claiming “wE ArE g0iNg iN nO mAtTer wHat” because your precious Larla is suffering from depression by not being able to record tiktok videos with her besties.

Keep in mind that’s the 7 day average. LCPS uses 14 day which is at 8.8 today.

I know you’re just trolling but even if the 14 day were 10+ (it’s not yet) thag aloke wouldn’t trigger a revert to DL. It would have to stay there for 5 consecutive SCHOOL days. So even if it was 10.4 for the 14 day average (it’s not), if it were, today still wouldn’t start any transition clock on it. That would happen Monday. And I say this as someone who thinks being in school right now is not a good idea. But facts are important.

FCPS is 5-consecutive calendar days. Why would Loudoun make it 5 school days?

Same reason they made their metrics not only higher but said BOTH had to be instead of just one. They want to make it as hard as possible to pause hybrid learning.

Not sure why you are quoting my post regarding the location of metrics nor why you are using wonky typing....My kids are fine... asynchronous stinks though.... maybe it will get better.

As they should.

At this point they are likely to make it to winter break. It will probably take a week+ for the metrics to break 10 and stay there for 5 school days. There are only 12 school days left.

I don’t think anyone will go back right after New Years. It will probably take a while for positivity rates to come back down after the holidays. It also depends if the Governor ads any more restrictions- I hope he does. 1-21 for secondary seems unlikely. I’m guessing more like end of Feb.
