| I did wonder how a BLM/Defund the Police activist acquaintance felt when his car was jacked right under his nose. He seemed a little less woke then. |
| Check your privilege. Be thankful you have a car to be stolen. Many do not. |
| If you read the Post article the police think the rate is up because there are more delivery people and they leave their vehilces running while they make deliveries, which (despite the notable streamed carjacking that leads off the story) would not be what most people consider a carjacking. |
What do these people do? Cheer and celebrate as they are being carjacked and calling 1-800-SOCIALWKR instead of 911?? |
Because that's SO much butter lmfao. Get out. |
You forgot, "enjoy Applebees!" |
Applebees? Irrelevant. |
Mmm, so much butter
|
Serious question: when people talk about social programs, do you really only think of dispatching social workers to a crime scene like Fire/EMS? |
Carjacking and armed carjacking have the longest mandatory minimum sentences of any violent crime in DC. If anything, this shows that harsh sentences are not effective deterrent. |
Really? Because both would be off of the streets. Sounds like a win/win to me. |
And I'm guessing the police are pretty bad at solving these crimes. |
So why are the crime rates so high? |
Ah, a classic! Seconded only by "just keep your head on a swivel!" or perhaps [i]"i's soooo worth it, though, to be near all the amazing restaurants!" and it's Le Diplomate or some Jose Andres chain |
Ahhhh, so it’s a privilege to be carjacked. Got it. So.... how do you feel about rape? Because afterall, it’s a privilege to have a vagina. Many do not. |
