I'm so torn about this. My kid has JUST adjusted. Finally. |
Do your schools limit what families and teachers are permitted to do during non-holiday times? Ours does not. So I don’t really see a difference with the holidays, as families or teachers may be having friends over, going out to dinner, etc during regular times. Focusing on travel doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either - covid is everywhere now. But I guess I can see a difference if your centers require families to make lock-down pledges or similar for all non-school activities. |
Our daycare is in the midst of an outbreak. We're not sending our child back until mid-January. |
Did it spread among the kids? Or teacher to kid? Were they wearing masks? We are debating sending, so I'm curious to hear more about this. Most cases I've heard of in daycares/preschools were single isolated cases that didn't spread. |
At our preschool one teacher tested positive. None of the kids caught it. |
NP, but in our daycare, it has been both children and teachers. And my entire family has it now. |
That's because families aren't reporting it, nor do they have any obligation to report if a family member caught it from a child. |
And the providers are miraculously not catching COVID from those kids because.... reasons? This isn't even controversial by health experts at this point. Young kids- particularly those younger than 10- are less likely to transmit COVID. |
We pulled my daughter and will reevaluate in a few weeks. |
Providers aren’t reporting it either because they don’t want to be shut down. Just a mysterious sub for two weeks. |
Where did you get that stat from? |
We kept ours enrolled. I will come back and report if anything happens. |
Texted my provider this morning and found out she and at least one other family got together with out of town relatives for Thanksgiving. Keeping kid home this week, if nobody is sick and numbers start decreasing maybe we can send him back soon. One week at a time. |
We stayed enrolled but aren't sending her. - PP |
Numbers won’t be decreasing anytime soon. |
