+1 It's a name for an old unattractive battle ax.

I like it. No one is going to remember Leona Helmsley in 10 years. And I don’t think it needs a nickname. I would not like Len or Leo as a nickname.

The heir to the Spanish throne is Princess Leonor. Masculine, really?

OP, I also have a strong Leona Helmsley association. Not just old lady vibes, but nasty old lady. What about just Lena?

You are old. No one in her daughter's generation will know who that is or care.

Opinions of misogynistic clowns like yourselves don't matter.

This may come as a shock to you but babies grow up and hopefully live to be 70 years old.. Leona is a name for a lifetime unlike Kenzie or Poppy or whatever nonsense you have named your child.

Your hatred of anything elderly especially when associated says something about you, and it isn't good pp.

You have a problem. These kinds of threads are asking for people's reactions to names. That's the entire point of them. I'm not the PP you are responding to here -- you called me a misogynistic clown upthread. I think your responses say something about you, PP, and it isn't good.

PP's comment wasn't a reaction it was pure misogyny, sexism, and ageism, and you be offended by someone calling that out, and trying to excuse it as a simple reaction says a lot about you, none of it good.

I like it.

I know a Leonie (similar), and her friends call her Leo, which is so cute.

I’m shocked at these responses! No idea why people have such a negative reaction...maybe I’m missing something?

I think it’s very pretty, works for a child and an adult, and sounds nice.
