I'll add that is bridged, so the Fios is still active for many house electronics like Ring cameras and Alexa, etc... The Eero is strong throughout the house for tablets, tv's and computers. |
OP here. I ended up just getting the Verizon router to make it easier on myself. I canceled my TV and phone and kept the Wifi but upgraded to 1G. They did not give it me the router free and I didn't see this post until after I set everything up with the rep. I know someone else who is a new Verizon customer who got 1G and was given the router free. I just assumed that was a new customer deal. PP, it sounds like you are an existing customer that upgraded, is that right?

We have the rented Verizon router with Orbi - which works well most of the time. The issue is that the Orbi has the parental settings (through Disney Circle) and if the kids want to circumvent, they drop off the Orbi network and onto the Fios. Thoughts on how to avoid? I am willing to get all new equipment since we are getting to the age when we need more controls, not less.
..and yes, I know I can also set controls through the Verizon router, but when I need to make changes (ie last night since they didn't have school today) it is a PITA to change (since I am also having to change the screen time setting for their phones.... |
