For current Maret parents

Does talking about art make you a snob?

I found Maret's admission process very warm this year.
Anyway, can I tag on another question?
Maret's lower school and upper (high? don't remember what they call it there) seemed very impressive. However their MS seemed to be located in the oldest and ugliest part of the building and overall seemed less exciting. Is it just the impression of the building and my overall impression is skewed? Or is MS in Maret as wonderful as the rest of it?

Depends on the context.

I'm impressed that you can keep it straight from the rest of the buliding(s). After multiple tours of the various schools, I am hard pressed to remember which one had the wow library and which one had the awesome (DC's word of choice) art studios. Much less how the various buildings connected. If this is a dry run for the college search ahead, I am clearly in trouble!

Maybe your impression is just a metaphor for middle school in general...

LOL, maybe. I am surprised also to remember that but a part of it is having a DC applying to MS. Can actual Maret parents comment about its middle school? thansk

OK - Actual Maret MS parent here. Not a snob. Kids are not artistically talented. I've been extremely happy so far. Great supportive faculty, and administration, very responsive to both the kids and parents. Interesting classes (at least to me, my kids may disagree), good group of kids at the school. Small, but not so small that my kids haven't been able to find friends with similar interests. The building is fine - it's not a showplace, but the classrooms are nice and it's a very comfortable atmosphere. Both of my kids have been very happy there and were right from the start - a huge plus. Because we came in in middle school, I can't really comment on the other parents; I don't see them a lot. I love the fact that the homework is not crushing, it seems just right to me. After the first report card came home I was shocked to see how much each teacher just *got* my kids. This alone is worth the cost of admission.
