| That is no aid. |
| Congrats! My DD is a freshman this year and she absolutely loves it. And they are handling the pandemic extremely well. They are actually moving toward in-classroom instruction. |
+1. They really do love it there. Lots of school spirit! |

Pitt is 36k OOS tuition for CS. UVA is approx 24k instate for CS.
Factoring the 15k merit, Pitt is cheaper. |
what is wrong with you? that is possibly a big enough difference to affect a family's decision. |
| Congratulations! Do you mind sharing your DC’s stats? |
| wow - congrats, OP! |
| Anyone got more than 15k or is that maximum this year? |
| Our child has a weighted gpa of 4.52 and a 35 on the ACT. Pitt was the rolling admission/safety school on their list, but we are a donut hole family, and this could turn out to be the school our child attends based on funding - the $15k makes this school affordable for us between 529 savings and cash |

Congratulations.
You and your child should feel great about this. (Savor those merit award letters. They are the high point of a long, stressful process.) |
Thanks for the tip - good advice. |
| Pitt used to give out a lot of full tuition scholarships. I guess they are not doing as much? |
My daughter got that much, she did not go. School is super expensive out of state. Three years ago 24k common with those stats. Nova, Fordham, Syracuse, Villanova, Case Western, GWU, Pitt, NYU, American cheap with merit aid. |
They were offered a very generous amount. |

Binghamton is best with Merit. Tuition is 27,800 for OOS and $10,200 instate. They offered my kid the instate rate as merit aid. Binghamton is very highly ranked so $10,200 is cheap. Plus middle of nowhere. Off campus apartments as cheap as $450 a month per kid.
Of course daughter did not go. But that was best deal. |
