| I just wear Ugg ear muffs and out my hood up if it’s really that cold. |
| +1 for ear muffs. I may have a pin head because I swear, all hats tend to ride down over my eyes and drive me nuts. Ear muffs keep me warm and I can see, ha! |

I love pistil. Especially the brimmed beanie.

If you are a commuter or want to spend time outside, I think you need a hat. You do not need any specialized cold weather gear but a hat does not fall into that category. It gets windy and cold. |
I walk 20 minutes to my office. If I don't wear a hat, my ears are painful and ringing by the time I get there. DC temps are below freezing typically on January and February mornings. Plenty cold enough for a hat. |
| Just get a maison michel hat, timeless. |

Here are the hats I own and wear (rarely) in winter:
Fleece beanie (for camping, mostly) Wool beanie (for cold days up north) Wool beret (cute hat) Felt cloche (green) Felt cloche (plaid) |
| I wear a beanie for hiking/walking the dog and a lined velvet cloche for commuting. The cloche isn't fancy, but it's a little more refined amd grown-up. Felt cloches are also very nice. |
Links to similars for purchase? |
| I have a couple of cashmere beanies, a felt cloche, and one of these https://www.baabaazuzu.com/collections/hats/products/cloche-hat. I also have a few vintage pill box hats, but those are more for fun than warmth. |
These don't look very warm. |
I got mine at Goorin Bros, and they don't have that style anymore, but here are a couple of nice wool felt cloches: https://www.goorin.com/collections/cloche-floppy/products/frenchie-petersen-wool-felt-cloche-womens-hat?variant=13751500046388 https://www.goorin.com/collections/cloche-floppy/products/minnie-hazel-wool-cloche-womens-hat?variant=13930803331124 Goorin is also great because their hats are sized. One size fits all won't fit my head. |
