My husband doesn’t know how to give a hug

Listen I don’t think anyone has mentioned this yet, but in addition to childhood trauma, many people with high functioning autism (what used to be called Aspergers) are lousy huggers. My daughter is one. As a small child she gave and received hugs gladly but it shifted as she grew up. She tolerates my hugs but freezes up and never hugs back. When I talk to her about it she says she gets a lot out of my hugs and doesn’t even realize she’s responding like a wooden soldier.
