Is this a joke? Were they spoofing something?

Look, I love laughing at gorgeous young people who all wear identical outfits too. But this is not a new thing! Through all of time people in social cohorts have dressed in similar ways as fashions change.

Where is the winery?

People are so snippy on here lol!

I'm in the Bay Area so Napa winery visits are (or were pre Covid) a regular thing for me and I would echo pp and suggest jeans (I like dark denim) flats, wedges or boots then a fitted tee or similar and a nice sweater or wrap.

Think high quality basics. Jewelry

No, but the "dressing up to look cute so I can post on Instagram and make it look like I had soooo much fun!" is definitely fairly new.

Go, dress how you'd like, have sincere fun, but the needing to look cute so you can post all about it is pathetic. And becoming an epidemic.

and you have to make it clear what cohort you belong to while getting liquered up on 'quality' virginia wine

It depends on where you are having dinner after the tasting.

For virginia wineries in the fall, I would wear flats - either boots or cute sneakers. You might have to traipse over grass, hills, mud. I would NOT wear suede shoes or boots. Wear layers -- fall weather in DC metro can be all over the place in the course of a day. Think tank/tee, sweater or sweatshirt, jeans or pants. Could also do a long boho dress (w/ a tank and leggings under) with cardigan. Pack a light parka or coat+ hat in the car in case it gets particularly cold and windy.

I would love to see people dressed up like this at wineries! You know they're actually having fun with it, not trying to *look* like they're having fun.

So true, and you can break it out by season.

Napa Valley Life Magazine even has a fall wardrobe section.

And now we putting VA wineries on par with Napa wineries? None of the VA ones are that great.

Wait do you think they HAD to buy those boots to wear on their trip or did they just all happen to have, and wear, those boots?

I don’t know, there are going to be a lot of red wine stains on those light-colored tops. Those ladies look ready to get sloppy. (Except for 2nd from the left. She looks pregnant. Hopefully the designated driver.)
