Montgomery County MD—in-person voting?

Anonymous
Maybe the Mid-County Community Recreation Center would be the least crowded since it is near Leisure World where I am guessing most are voting by mail.

You can go to any of these, right?

Has anyone been yet? I’ve been occasionally glancing at the tracker and at one point this morning both the silver spring civic center and Wheaton rev center had a 0 minute wait- which I find hard to believe! But would be good to know just how accurate it is....

Yes, you may go to any of the early-voting places to vote.

I voted at Silver Spring around 11 AM today via paper ballot. I was in and out in 15 minutes.

There was a longer line and wait time to vote electronically.

You can go to any of the early-voting sites to vote.

My father, who is in his late 70's, has been an election judge (works at the voting center) for 15+ years. This is the first year he won't be doing it. Doctor's (and my mother's) orders, and I agree.

Most of his "coworkers" are in a similar age bracket.

I requested my ballot by mail, got it, and voted that way. Super easy and safe.

Did you request the ballot?

I hope that by now you have received your ballot. Once you request a ballot, you can check it’s status online.

DP. To clarify: the electronic voting also produces a paper ballot. You make your selections in the electronic voting machine, it gives you a print-out, you put the print-out into the ballot scanning machine.

The main purpose of the electronic voting machine is to be an accessible voting device, i.e., for people with vision impairments, fine-motor impairments, etc. But everyone is allowed to use it.

I voted at Wheaton this morning. Arrived at 6.45. Looked like well over 100 people in line in front of me. All in all, I was in and out in an hour. I chose paper because the line was much shorter. I marked the little bubble circles to vote and then took it to the ballot scanning machine where it was turned into an electronic vote. All good. Highly recommend!

I voted at Wheaton this afternoon. The app said 10 minute wait, it was actually more like 45, but I didn’t mind. It was efficient and well organized.

There are valid reasons to choose one or the other. Hopefully the state hired more people to process the extra mail-in ballots. But, at least MD can process the mail-in ballots before Election Day. I’m originally from PA and everyone I know is nervous about the situation there and my parents decided to go vote in person just to be sure their vote is counted.

If you're concerned about waiting in line, vote somewhere other than Rockville EOB:

Yeah I was watching the times yesterday and today to figure out where/when to go, and their line is ALWAYS the longest.

I voted in Chevy Chase around 5 pm today with a paper ballot. I was in and out in 15 minutes - no line at all - even though the site said there was a 15-minute wait. And like PP there was a longer line/wait to vote electronically. Hand marked paper ballots are always more secure so I preferred to do that anyway.
