OP, you are a little tough to comprehend, but I'm with you nonetheless. We also lost power and fled to a hotel on Saturday with a baby and a kindergartener. I'm from the Northeast but have never been so scared in my life as I was sliding on the road with 2 little kids in the backseat and no other cars in sight except for the occasional monster truck. And my kindergartener kept complaining presumably as a stress relief but still it was making us crazy. I have a great employer who follos the fed closings and lets me work from home when necessary so I don't have the added level of anxiety but even still I so sympathize. I think all those lucky people who have rode out the storm in their own homes don't know how frightening it can be!

I'm sorry OP-sounds like it's been a rough couple of days. I think many people are just plain exhausted and overwhelmed-no power, schools are closed, between children being sick and weather, a lot of people have already used up most of their leave, etc.. It does help when your employer is closed under these circumstances. We're all human.

So, why be mad at FFx City? Be upset with your company who chose to follow the county. Your employer could've chosen to follow the schools or have it's own guidelines.

I'm going to blame above-ground power lines for what (near as I can decipher) sounds like her biggest problem. If we're taking the case to G-d, maybe we can dial it back and merely rage at Fairfax County for its inferior investment in basic infrastructure?
