Are you daring to compare people in our military who defend YOU and our country to this maniac in the news? I have a brother over in Iraq right now and to think he's risking his life for an ungrateful SOB as yourself makes me sick to my stomach.

I didn't ask anybody to go there and fight! He's not defending me. He's making me sad to know that his relatives are here, missing him while he's there hurting other people.
Saving the proportions I think that war is like hitting your children to teach them to stop hitting, or biting your dog to make them stop biting. It just doesn't work!

World War II = proof that war sometimes works.

Why would you ask such a stupid question unless you think it is abusive to waterboard terrorist? Big damn difference.

These men and women come home, take a little leave, and are just told to move on to the next job. There isn't much support for them while there or when they come home.

And what drives people to insinuate that every member of the military is as sick as the waterboarding father? You must have some kind of problem yourself.

The moment that one accepts a job that implies that they'll have to hurt others there's definitely something wrong with them.
It's OK to waterboard others, but not your own child? How nice of them!

Please, feel free to go somewhere else where there isn't a military. You are truly an idiot and people like you will end up destroying this country. We need a military and you should thank who ever it is you pray to that we have men and women willing to put their life on the line to allow people like you to have freedom. Most of the military people I know are great parents. Just because this guy did this to his child does not make all military child abusers. That would be called profiling, something I am so sure you are against.

Hell yes it is okay to waterboard others. And beat the hell out o them while you are at it, at least while they are complaining about our military harming them, they are doing with their head attached to their shoulders. Can't said that about our guys.

why is this turning into a anti military post. Military and child abusers are not the same thing. What about the girlfriend? Is she military? She helped. Lets keep it to what it is , child abuse, not military gone crazy.

If you're all so proud and thankful form them killing fathers, mothers, daughters and sons out there, why don't you support them after they come back then? Why make them crazy and leave them alone to abuse their children?

It is only natural that the military are putting their hard-won skills to use in the domestic context when they return. In any case I really don't think that waterboarding is torture - this issue has already been settled by the previous Vice President, the CIA etc.

So what we have is a father trying to encourage excellence in his daughter. If we find out that 15 years later this girl gets into an Ivy, are we really going to be talking about whether the methods were sound or unsound, or are we going to be celebrating their effectiveness?

I do not believe waterboarding should be the first resort in the battle for literacy, but it is now certainly available in the instrumentarium.

If he is in Iraq, he is not defending PP you quoted. He is defending the oil tycoons monetary gains.

Why do you imply that we don't support them? I'm proud of my sister who joined the army with the intention to protect her country. She has no desire to kill anyone, has never killed anyone, but is trained to protect you and your loved ones regardless of your lack of support for our soldiers. Now that she has come back from the war, she has full support of her family and community. I can assure you she is not crazy and won't abuse her future children. My dad also served for a short time and I don't ever recall him waterboarding us as a result of repairing air force jets for the military. He's quite a pacifist.

The waterboarder father is crazy all on his own. I'm glad the police, who are also trained to protect and kill if necessary, are there to save that little girl.
