Do any Republicans like Palin?

I lean Republican, and may I say I find it hard to believe ANYONE can quote Sarah Palin - she doesn't speak in sentences!

I'm a Republican; I don't really get her appeal, but I know she appeals to a LOT of people and I don't begrudge them that. Just like I don't begrudge my friends who get all rapt and starry-eyed over Obama. They seem to push some emotional chord that some 'base' in the party needs pushed.... and that gets votes so hey. I do hope she continues in a role of stirring up the base rather than running for office though as , agreed, there are more qualified less polarizing women Republicans who I would like to see take a serious shot. Palin would bring a lot of people with her, but also leave a lot behind. I would like to see Republicans to have a real shot...I can't take four more years of Obama...is this only year one....

I'm a Democrat, but here is my theory. Republicans in this city tend to be much more educated than the "core" constituency that appears to really like her. So my Republican friends around here really can't stand her, just like I can't stand her. But I think that is b/c they are "Reagan" Republicans and not the evangelical ones that make up a bunch of the core Republican base.

How about Pat Caddell? Democrat pollster(or maybe former Democrat) still has Democrat affinities, equates Obama and Palin together, same appeal, (different audiences) power of personality.

Totally agree with pp that DC area GOPers don't fall into the NASCAR/PALIN/TeaParty category.

Political conservative here, I actually find Palin quite charming and likeable -- subject to the caveat that she be nowhere near any meaningful political office. Was appalled by McCain's choice of her -- confirming all of my negative thoughts about that so-called "maverick" -- and would be troubled by the thought of her one heartbeat away from the presidency. I wish the Republicans had some good candidates on the bench, but they do not seem to at this moment in time. Creates an opening for Palin, which would be a disaster for the party.

HA! I wonder if I know your friend. I have a friend who does this. She sent out a mass email with some happy news and I wrote back congratulating her and she replied - "youbetcha!" She even added the quotes.

Not enough good Republicans want to run for office..too much of a pay cut. I actually like Palin's stance on policies and and that is about all I care about. FYI-no true Republican would have voted for Obama..might have stayed home if they hated Palin so much but no on Obama-his policies go against everything a Republican would believe in ..high taxes punishing success, killing babies etc. etc.
