Moving to SF

I understand wealthy people can live well there, but they can live well anywhere, so I personally would not. But I know OP is not asking that.

Anonymous wrote:Hi, we will be moving to SF this year, Presido Hieghts most likely. What are some private HS/middle/elem schools in the area? We are also open to boarding, what boarding schools do SF kids go too? We are also opeb to other areas of SF, but would like to stay in city and someone near Presido Hieghts. Thanks!

Boarding is really unusual in California. People don't even do overnight summer camps like they do on the east coast. I grew up in California; if people go to overnight summer camps at all (and it's not nearly as common), it tends to be only starting around age 13 and then only for a week or so.

There are a few good boarding schools (Stevenson in Monterey, Cate School in Carpenteria). However they have a high percentage of international students.

Why do you frame this as a drawback?

If you are wealthy, Bay Area is amazing. OP sounds VERY wealthy.

Even the most wealthy and powerful can’t avoid the needles and feces on the street.

they can if they only walk around the super wealthy areas.

Nope. I remember walking down Nob Hill one Sunday morning and seeing a teenager in a doorway shooting smack. It’s everywhere—California has done a horrible job taking care of its mentally ill and addicted populations.

You do realize that other states dumped their patients on greyhound buses and sent them to CA, right?

For non-boarding high school, Bay School is in Presidio. There are several private high school sin SF and all wold be reasonable accessible form Presidio: Urban, Lick-Wilmerding, Drew, International, etc.
