Arlington 09 Boys beat Bethesda

They pick the kids that are fastest and kick the hardest for the top teams, then joystick the hell out of them.
They never figure out which kids have any creativity or soccer IQ, and as they get older, they get more and more exposed.

Not sure. That 2010 team has walloped many teams including Arlington multiple times. We see Bethesda as the benchmark for at least that age group in the area

Again, no one gives a crap until the kids pass puberty.

Seriously.

Was it Bethesda's top team? I thought they played up a year?

Is Bethesda playing in Bethesda or in VA? Curious how the mask things are going.

Personally, I don't think it's bad. 11 year olds want to win and they work hard. To say that their results don't matter is f-ing stupid. It shouldn't matter to ADULTS!, but, to the kids, it matters and it's a big deal and it's what motivates them to continue training and doing what they are doing...regardless of puberty.

Agreed. The adults generally should not care. But I also think it is nice for adults to see progress in their kids and for kids to know that results can vary. Sometimes it is reflected in wins. Sometimes it is not. Kids at this age know many of the other players and have worked hard on their own and with their parents to improve. It is nice to see their hard work paying off, whether you are on that team or not. So if you don’t know the kids, I can understand why you view it as nuts or irrelevant. It is both unless you know the kids. (Many of these kids came up from second or third teams.) And neither kids nor adults should care. I am sure they feel the same about FCV v McLean girls soccer discussions at ages that matter more. But if you can see the logic in watching the Bad News Bears and rooting them on, certainly you can understand why parents and kids who are involved in these games care when their kids exceed expectations from all and perform better than expected. I am sure these kids, more than most, understand that things will change again in two or three years. And that is why they should enjoy it while they can.
