Hugs - I went through the same thing with my husband this past summer. The doctors were encouraging that the fever means his body is fighting whatever bug is causing all this so don’t be too worried by it. Not to scare you but we ended up in the hospital for 22 days over six weeks. Every test they did came back negative and they would think they knew what it was - send us home continuing IV treatments, but fever (and seizures) would come back and he would be readmitted. It was super scary and they never did figure out the problem but it’s been about 6 weeks since his last admission and he is back to his normal healthy self. |
Hugs OP. Keep us posted. Did they check fifths disease? |
People think “the flu” is throwing up. |
Wishing you compassionate and attentive care today, OP, and answers! |
acute flaccid myelitis? |
Many viral processes can cause joint pain, so don’t let that particular point worry you too much. Hang in there. They will fix this. I’ll say a prayer for your sweet boy. |
Childrens is great OP. Make sure you are in the room when the doctors come in so you can ask all your questions. |
I am really sorry. Has he been screened for viral myositis? |
Keeping good thought for your son and you. Keep yourself fed and hydrated, and try to rest with him. Hope you have good news soon. |
What about parasites? Or rabies? Has he been in any natural b bodies of water or in contact with animals? |
Sending good vibes your way.
I know it can be stressful. My wife was hospitalized for a week after flu-like symptoms and abnormal blood tests. They did $50,000 worth of tests at Georgetown before sending her home, still sick but saying she probably just had a viral infection of done sort. Literally the next day she felt fine. Children's is great. You're going to be right where you need to be. |
Immune response due to past coronavirus infection? |
Virtual (((((hugs)))) OP. hopefully it will pass and your DC will start getting better today. |
just said a prayer for you both OP. Hang in there. |
How scary OP. Children's is great - I'm glad you were able to get him in there quickly and I hope they can give you some answers.
Will keep you in my thoughts!!!!! |
