How far are you from the hospital where you are delivering?

I'm only 2 blocks and on the last pregnancy I thought I could walk over between contractions- ha ha ha!!! What was I thinking.

Very, very far. I live in Fredericksburg and I want to deliver at Inova Fairfax - it's 53 miles and could be upwards of an hour without traffic. Needless to say, it's a scheduled C.

I live an hour away (without traffic).
My water broke, but labor lasted for 19 1/2 hours before DS was born.

25 miles. We pass about four hospitals en route to GWU Hospital. Our emergency plan is Fairfax Hospital, but even that is a drive.

Pretty far, live in College Park area and am delivering at Fair Oaks IVOVA in Virginia! Every doctor visit I ask if this is too far away and they say perhaps if it were not my first, but they aren't concerned. I make the drive because I really like the practice.
