NL/DCE

21 DCE by far
22 DCE also by far
24 is NL by a long shot.
23 is NL by a good margin, they just got DCE 2 best players to switch over.
25 both are pretty bad compared to their other teams.
26 is BLC/DCE
27 & Lower= Next Level

If this ranking is valid, especially for the younger teams, do you think it implies anything about the future of DCE?

NL is doing a better job getting strong players on the youngest teams than BLC, which is going to make it harder for DCE in the long run. DCE 2021 for example began with a really strong core from BLC that had played together for years. So in that way NL probably better positioned for the long run - i.e. 2027 and down. For years above that it is year to year and the various assessments above are pretty accurate. But so much can happen year to year to teams. A couple key players leaving can lead to a flood and sink a team very quickly. So the whole scene can change pretty rapidly. But my guess is that Madlax, NL, DCE, and VLC remain the top tier and between them things shift year to year.

The future of DCE depends entirely on how much the owner/founder invests in succession planning after his son leaves the program. I thought his younger son played too but don't see his name on the DCE rosters. Will most likely be a good drop from these last 2 years.

Where are the crazy parent 27, 28, 29 rankings???

Exactly. If you can't take a step back and realize how ridiculous all of this is, then the joke is on you.

I agree that the knowledge above seems ridiculous in the abstract. But if you have a couple of kids that play you end picking up a lot of random knowledge like this. The way tournaments are organized you end up seeing a lot of the kids the class above and below you during the off times. So without even caring much about the sport a lot of parents can give you a rundown of multiple years. And there is a really small number of area teams that play each other over and over.

In the website world, Next Level far outshines DCE. DCE's website is a complete embarrassment to its organization. Next Level's website lists its players accurately per team with high schools for older kids and links to their highlight reels if they have them. DCE's website has inaccurate rosters, with half information, half high schools, half photos, and some non-working or nonexistent links to highlight reels. Some may argue that websites aren't important, but in this day and age it's about your social media and online presence and how you represent your company. A website can serve as an inside look at the healthy or unhealthy function and organization of a company. It's not hard to put an employee or parent volunteer in charge of updating a website's content and making sure it's correct, complete, and working. Especially, if someone is updating an Instagram and Facebook page regularly then it shouldn't be that hard to make sure a website is up to date and functioning a few times a year. This will recruit new interest in the club from parents and players and college scouts. Parents who pay between $2k to $3k a year per player on both A and B teams should demand DCE put a little effort into their website, its function, and accuracy.

Yes. A great website is so much more important than all the D1 commits.

I am a fan of DCE, so don’t get this wrong. Yes, the 2022 and 2021 commits are awesome. But they need to put some time into their website it’s terrible.

In my best Allen Iverson voice “Website, we talkin bout website...”

Some people talk about how much food people bring to tournaments and others talk about websites. To each their own.

Dont' agree that NL 2026 is in the same league as ML, VLC or BLC 2026. ALL of the latter three would currently beat NL 2026 on any given day. That earlier post must have been written by the Mitchell PR team. NL 2026 doesn't play in HoCo elite (or whatever the top bracket is in that league).

NL 2026 is weaker than the rest of the NL teams which everyone has acknowledged here. Is this the same VLC 2026 dad who keeps posting about 2026 rankings and his conspiracy theories? Get a grip, dude.

BLC 2026 got trashed by VLC on Sunday. BLC should move to B league with next level. VLC will beat the other Maryland teams and show NOVA lax is better than Montgomery county and Baltimore. BLC definitely not Elite.
