| I would never do that. It causes staining of the teeth. Would you rather they have stained teeth and negligibly less risk of cavities? Just use the fluoride toothpaste. Eating and drinking fluoride is absurd. |
Drinking bottled water is way worse for the environment and you get exposed to more plastic from the bottles.. If you have clean tap water drinking bottled only is a bad idea. |
Fluoride only causes the brown staining at extreme over exposure. That's extremely rare. I have some typical fluoride spots and they are small white spots. I'd take those over cavities any day. |
| Flouride calcifies your pineal gland and can cause early puberty. Look it up. |
I did and it's all conspiracy websites based on limited rat studies where you'd have to eat multiple tubes of toothpaste a day to get the concentrations they fed those rats (like those studies that put people into a funny about diet sodas and you'd have to eat like pounds of artificial sweeteners to get close). Dose matters. No one is saying you should eat tons and tons of fluoride but small concentrations 100% help dental health. |
It's not bottled water. It's actual spring water from a local spring. We take big bottles there and fill them up. We drink it because it tastes SO GOOD. If you've never had it, don't judge. Also, our tap water has a noticeable chlorine smell and taste. |
You might want to check the label of your multivitamin, if you take one. |

15 mo is way too early. 3 is when they start.
You can give the 15 mo that bottled nursery water you can buy at the grocery store or on Amazon if you're worried about it. |
| I always read it was dangerous for pregnant women and young children to drink water from a natural spring. Too many contaminants can be present. |
Our spring water is tested monthly by the EPA and a report is available to consumers. |
What spring is that? |
You know what's tested multiple times daily to EPA specifications? Your municipal water supply. You know how you get rid of chlorine taste? A Brita filter. |
I hear you, but if you tasted this spring water, you would know. It is just a different world. It's amazing. It's like tap water is not real water. It's like the difference between a summer tomato straight out of your garden and a winter tomato flown up from Florida. It's just not the same thing. |
|
Why do you drink bottled water? It seems like the best alternative would be to just mix it up with more tap water -- maybe not all the time but 1/2 of the time?
I grew up with well water that was untreated with fluoride, so they put fluoride treatment trays in my mouth every time I had a dentist appointment, but I don't remember taking a daily supplement. I have very strong teeth and very few cavities. I don't think it hurt me, but I did end up with some white staining on my teeth (Google it for examples). I'm not really sure when that happened, but I think it's something to be aware of if you use too much fluoride. |
Okay, but you never answered questions about what magical spring is tested by the EPA and bla bla bla which makes me think you're trolling. |
