How is va tech doing?

In the broader community out there, no one is wearing masks. It's going to explode out of the college and into rural communities in a bad way.

Right. Everyone go stick their heads in the sand and let's pretend this isn't happening.

I disagree if a big state school can keep then numbers low, I want to know about it and know what they did.

+1 Yes a public health crisis has nothing to do with the public!

But from the dashboard, it looks like no one is coming in with it. Where would it come from?

I don't think VT required testing prior to showing up on campus.

My kid is visiting a long time friend this evening who is living on Friday for VT. Keeping all fingers crossed, but he is packing no more than a SUV load for now (as well mine this time next week when he leaves for his school). You need to be able to get them moved out if they close the school.

Single room is a good thing by the way. Keep the door open so people can say hi.

They are administering testing prior to moving into the dorm. If you look at the testing numbers for zip code 24060, it is clear in the surge in testing, but the rates of detected infections is more or less stable.

This is toward the bottom of my blog:

Because these tests are tied to one zip code, we can get a pretty good idea of the prevalence of the virus.

My daughter’s friends are in off campus apartments. When they were over here last week they were talking about how testing isn’t required and they were going to skip it.

I thought VT students were supposed to be smart.

It's going about as well as can be expected. They're a week or two behind the other schools dealing with an outbreak.

Radford is a few weeks ahead of everyone else. They moved in on the 1st.

Seven Virginia Tech students were suspended Thursday after local law enforcement alerted the university to reports of large groups of students gathered off-campus.

Radford University has suspended three students for “endangering conduct” and failure to comply with the university’s COVID-19 safety measures, The Roanoke Times reported Wednesday.

Students living on campus at Tech began moving in Friday, and on-campus Radford students began moving in Aug. 1.

Good luck. We live in MD and my high stats rising senior kid is really interested in the school. It seems like a great place. Wishing you best of luck.

What does your kids having high stats have to do with anything?
