In fact, if you want more of my 'lived experience," my friend's father is both a doctor and a rabbi (they're modern Orthodox, if it matters) and he will basically do whatever the parents request as far as how religious they want it. |
My ob/gym did it—and did a great job! Capital Womens care in silver spring (the one at GA Ave and Dennis). It’s standard if you deliver with them—they don’t do it in the hospital but about 10 days later an outpatient surgery center. I don’t see why you couldn’t use them even if you don’t deliver with them. |
We used Marmon. He was quick and efficient. I would call him and ask. But I do recommend him.
Most people who are having a bris, during Covid, have the mohel come and do a zoom ceremony. Or have just grandparents and the Mohel. |
A pediatrician did it for our son in the hospital. Is it really a thing to have the OB do it?! |
At the hospital I delivered at, the OB/GYNs do it. |
It depends on the area. When I delivered at GW, the OBs did it. When I delivered in the Midwest, the pediatricians did it. In DC, if you are willing to deal with going into Children’s National, the pediatric urology department does a circumcision clinic. You can go as an outpatient and they will do the procedure in the office. |
Dr. Engel was wonderful, so caring and professional. He did an outstanding job with the procedure. |
I used Dr. Marmon for my boys, and everything turned out great. No issues at all. |
+1 she was great at our interfaith bris |
