I had wedding reception at the Garden City Hotel. I would only move back if I had the money to afford a waterfront house. Don’t miss the people or attitude....

But they do have some very nice people with good hearts that would take the shirt of their back for you.

Absolutely. Land of the volunteer fire departments. THese people get up and come to help when it is needed. Volunteers.

Can Queens play?

I went to Beth Shalom day camp in Roslyn.
Adventureland.
Laces or United Skates of America.
Jones beach concerts
Long Beach
My high school graduation and first concert were at Nassau Collesium
Lots of Islanders even though I was a Rangers fan.

What was that water park way out on the LIE?

I miss:
-being by the water
-egg bagels (not a bagel with an egg on it!!)
-Concerts at Jones Beach. That's gotta be one of the best venues in the world
-Delicious pizza by the slice
-my family

But in general, I strongly dislike Long Island, and never fit in, despite being born and raised there. I didn't like most people, and god knows most of them didn't like me. I left for college and never lived there again. I much prefer it here.

Plainview Old Bethpage school district.

Carvel crunchy cakes (and the coupons in the Pennysaver for buy one get one free sundaes on Wednesdays)
I worked at Adventureland in the 90's
Usdan - camp for the performing arts
Woodbury Commons when we went to do "fancy shopping" - including the fancy Chinese food place there
It was totally common to drive through five or six different towns in the course of a regular day
Plainview Y - I didn't realize how awesome that place was until I didn't have access to it anymore
Walt Whitman Mall to meet up with boys
Broadway Mall when you were sick of the WW Mall boys
Roosevelt Field Mall when you grew up
Regal Deli
Foodtown > Waldbaums

Commack, (Huntington Village as an adult) 43

Been here 10 years

Delis!
Fire Island. I've been back a few times but to drive out to Bay Shore and then take the ferry- too much!
Not taking 10 years to find a place to get a good hair cut
Great pizza/Italian restaurants
EVERYONE has a pool
Bagels (obviously)
Boardy Barn (but too old for them now anyway).
Drinking on the train home

Same. I had a very strict and paranoid mother - I was never allowed to go to a concert or club. I went to Jones Beach exactly twice in my life.

Walking to Carvel (fudgey the whale)
The train dad took to the city

I always thought of Floral Park as part of Queens (which I know TECHNICALLY is part of LI, but nobody thinks of it that way).

No you are wrong. There is a part of Floral Park Queens. But there is also the village that has nice schools and beautiful houses.
