Why do you buy processed foods for your kids?

Totally agree, OP. And processed clothes too! We raise our own sheep so we know exactly where our fibers come from. Takes no time at all to shear them and spin the yarn! Plus we all knit so well we can do it practically in our sleep.

I've got news for you, mom of young kids:

My kid eats tons of fruits and veggies and homemade this and that and also Oreos and Doritos and ramen and soda on the daily. At 11 he's on a high level travel sports team and Everyone's BMI is great and everyone's complexion glows, the world still turns, and we get to eat junk food that tastes really good and I can spend my free time cooking what I enjoy cooking instead of squeezing homemade yogurt through cheesecloth because it's easy. But you do you.

I know right? What kind of garbage parent buys their kids clothes at a STORE??

Also, because I like Oreos and am not going to hide them from my children.

Oh see, what I do is I buy organic cereal for my kid and Frosted Mini Wheats for myself. I’m not sharing it with anyone!

Sorry but I'm judging a parent who would rather waste time making their own YOGURT than spend it with their children. And don't tell me your kids enjoy making yogurt because that's even more sad.

I don’t think you understand what the word “time” means.

+1 It takes time and skills. I make many things from scratch (bread, sauces, treats etc) and it takes lots of time and planning every week. I also buy some things that are processed.

I focus more on avoiding foods with added salt or sugar. A lot of processed foods made for adults, including bread, have lots of added salt. Doesn't mean I don't give bread/never anything processed, but I try to be aware and balance with foods with less sodium. I do make banana pancakes from scratch and yes it does take time lol. Never made yogurt, don't see the point when there is plenty of plain yogurt at the store with no added sugar.

OP is definitely a troll. Real foods are very time consuming. DH and I are really healthy, but it takes hours a day and that is time that we could be spending with our children or doing other things.

But... I think she meant "junk food" instead of processed. It does blow my mind sometimes that people buy their kids gushers, fruit roll ups, soda and chips. And they eat it on a daily basis.

Since her three examples were yogurt, frozen waffles, and granola bars, I think you're wrong about what she meant.

Because I can’t make Cheetos. Or hard pretzels.
Because homemade graham crackers, cheez it’s and Oreos are a lot of work and it’s not worth it.

I do make all kinds of muffins, mini pancakes, waffles, soft pretzels and pretzel bites, bread sticks, pizza dough, all kinds of cookies, cupcakes, cakes, no bake energy bites, croutons, kale chips, crunchy chickpeas, Chile lime almonds, and cheese straws.

I don’t make - granola bars, crackers, hard pretzels, sandwich bread, naan, pita, English muffins, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, yogurt, ricotta, paneer, Or breakfast cereal.

I make what I enjoy making. I buy what I don’t enjoy making. You should get the book “Buy the butter, make the bread” about the economics of making your own vs. store bought. If you love making things from scratch, great! That’s not my main hobby, but good for you.

Oops. Me too. Plus that lil goober won’t eat 90% of my homemade organic equivalents. And yes we tried. Endlessly. They get plenty of nutritious foods, but sometimes they get a frozen gf nugget. Or pig in a blanket. Whatevs.

Because they're delicious, easy and cheap.

The question is: why don't you buy processed food for your kids? Processed doesn't necessarily equal unhealthy, and made from scratch doesn't necessarily equal healthy. My husband makes tons of homemade cookies. Not healthy.
