Says two posters who never watch football. |
I've lived in this area my whole life. Grew up on this football team, watched the game on mute with Sonny, Sam and Frank on the radio. I finally realized how racist this team name is. The old team name does not have a place in the NFL anymore. If you think it is such an honorable name, I challenge you to go up to a native american and call them a redskin to their face. Say 'I'm white, you're a redskin'. Yeah, loses its luster real fast. |
And how about the Redskins at Red Mesa High? No, this is about your White Savior Complex, not about any Indians you never met growing up in Falls Church. |
| well played, Dan Snyder. Well played. |
| The name still celebrates a slave owner. When will Snyder learn? |
That’s the new commercial! WTF, no WFT. WTF, no ... WFT. WTF, no ... ... WFT. |
I’m hoping all beige or gray...no logo on helmet. |
That lowers the resale value. The uniforms should be silver, black or white like most of the cars around here. |
Oh my!!! I suppose they have vented the abbreviation with their focus groups yet. WTF |
+100 |
When you've sobered up, you can write a more clearly stated response. You've got a lot going on here. Oh, and I work with IHS. I know plenty of people who've called for a name change for a long time. Dan Snyder and his cronies found enough people (and likely paid them) to support the racist name for a long time. It's easy to go through life if you live in an echo chamber. |
They will have a name before they start playing games again. |
Right. You all know this is temporary, correct? They have immediately dispensed with Redskins and are using this as a temporary hold while they decide on a new name. |
I read an article that said that when the basketball team was the Bullets, it took about 2.5 years to take care of renaming, copyrighting, etc the new name of the Wizards. |
