I don’t believe anyone Anywhere has said you can’t do something without the vaccine. We are hopeful that kids will play games. At a minimum they are scrimmaging at 11 v 11 now.

Cite? Explain the full Bethesda camps that are ongoing? Vaccine? What vaccine?

Are the bsc camps actually "full camps" my dd starts in a couple weeks but I was assuming no scrimmages.

Contact BSC directly for your assurance.

Just received this, my DD has been playing in the 5 v 5 league:

Hello Parents and Coaches,

With great regret, we must inform you that we have received a “cease and desist” order from Montgomery County to immediately cancel all league play until further notice. This includes the SAM Soccer 5v5 league and takes effect immediately.
This order has been issued in spite of our diligent efforts to fulfill protocols as stipulated by the County a few weeks ago. (To our knowledge, there has not been one case of an infection since the league started.)

• The order does not apply to camps and clinics that are currently scheduled at the SoccerPlex.
• If we are given the green light to resume play this summer, we will do our best to make up as many games as possible.
• We will keep you updated with any developments.

Please stay safe and we hope to see you soon

Wow. Curious of this is a temporary thing that only last a few weeks or the entire summer.

I saw a little girl (9/10?) In the store early Saturday morning with her bsc gear on. I thought it was strange since no camp on sat but now im guessing it may have been one of these leagues.

There are social distance practices right now and on Saturday early mornings. BSC is not running leagues

What happened is they ignored the laws or rules or orders or whatever you want to call it, and apparently got caught.

Not sure what soccerplex falls under but this clearly says recreation facilities are closed in phase 2.

Cont'd. But it also says adults and youth can play low contact sports with restrictions..so you can play..just not in a recreation facility I guess. 😭

I agree we're trending slightly up but that graph is for show. Its of # of cases. Of course # of cases increased- it will always increase. Can you decrease- the # of positives? No. Check the chart for testing...its waaay up. The percentage has not risen at that steep rate.

Anyway they should roll back bars, indoor restaurants and all the malls.

Correct, not in this area yet. We are having the exact same conversations and making the same statements Floridians were having 6 weeks ago and look at them now.

It will always increase, yes, but when the new daily case # was sitting 300-400 for the last 5 weeks, and now we are in the 800+ range, its concerning. The real stat is hospitalizations and ICU numbers though, which is not trending up in MD at the moment.

When I posted the NBC article above, I wasn’t debating the COVID-19, its data or its seriousness. I was only pointing out that the State of Maryland might now allow Fall soccer based upon that article. I emphasize “might” as no one knows right now.
