Anyone have any experience with this?
https://www.calverteducation.com/academy It’s a very reputable source of homeschooling material. I know that Obama’s mother used their materials when they were living abroad… I wonder what their online school is like. |
| Sadly, Calvert is not what it used to be. The name has been sold twice since those days, most recently to Odysseyware. I wouldn’t recommend it now. |
Wow, I had no idea. Thanks. Are there any similar places that have maintained quality? |
| We are actually looking at UCLA Extension, which is videotaped (and MC, which is live online for the fall) but our kids are in high school. |
Would any of the MC classes be suitable for a rising freshman? |
| The state of Florida has their own virtual live school programming they are setting up. My friend’s district is doing 5 day in person, or online within district or use the live online state schooling. |

I think so, but a rising freshman may not be eligible for dual enrollment at MC. I’ve only looked at MC for rising seniors and juniors, and it seems possible for that age/level to switch to homeschooling and take classes at MC online this fall. Considering it. |
