Can you buy online school with a live teacher?

Anyone have any experience with this?

It’s a very reputable source of homeschooling material. I know that Obama’s mother used their materials when they were living abroad… I wonder what their online school is like.

Sadly, Calvert is not what it used to be. The name has been sold twice since those days, most recently to Odysseyware. I wouldn’t recommend it now.

Wow, I had no idea. Thanks. Are there any similar places that have maintained quality?

We are actually looking at UCLA Extension, which is videotaped (and MC, which is live online for the fall) but our kids are in high school.

Would any of the MC classes be suitable for a rising freshman?

The state of Florida has their own virtual live school programming they are setting up. My friend’s district is doing 5 day in person, or online within district or use the live online state schooling.

I think so, but a rising freshman may not be eligible for dual enrollment at MC. I’ve only looked at MC for rising seniors and juniors, and it seems possible for that age/level to switch to homeschooling and take classes at MC online this fall. Considering it.
