Anyone feel their parents overspent on them?

We got takeout a lot, AND when I was in junior high and high school, my parents gave me money to go to the movies and out to dinner with my friends ALL THE TIME. That is so weird to me because my husband and I are now pretty budget conscious and I can't imagine ever spending that much money on eating out. But we never went on vacations (literally never), and I barely did any activities, which I would've liked. I think we could've used the clothing budget to send me to an activity. Such weird priorities.

My parents wouldn’t let us spend money on the in vogue material things like fancy shoes/clothes or whatever else every other kid had but we were allowed to spend on experiences. So lot of travel, could do front row to shows & sport events, activities, etc. anything that would create a lasting memory i guess. I think it was a nice rule in retrospect for a family in a somewhat affluent area trying to keep a balance. (They covered our education which makes big difference now)

Yup... Bought me any vehicle I wanted. Paid for all my bills. Bought me a house.
