The first rule of pickup soccer during a pandemic is: You do not talk about pickup soccer. The second rule of pickup soccer is: You do not talk about pickup soccer. Third rule of pickup. Someone yells "Cops", run to space, tell the cops you are not scared of the flu and my parent said I had to play. Fourth rule: Only 10 players to a field.

We can have full games now in Fairfax Co.

It's all tenuous right now. Doesn't hurt to keep a low profile. Youth baseball had games in June during Phase 2 - somehow they got the permits and kept it quiet.

Washington Post had an editorial yesterday chiding Virginia for entering Phase 3. Cases are rising in Hampton Roads. There will be some who will be back out soon screaming for Northam to reimpose restrictions.

Roanoke and all those little town through out the state(same in NC) are having the same problem. Add in testing in those areas are running a week to 10 days behind. This makes it really difficult to contact trace and self quarantine. So more spread.

Yeah, I have no idea how they contact trace. With my son's current soccer training schedule, he probably bumps into 50 different kids a week.

Pardon if this is kind of a dumb question, but how many of the kids in question played Middle school soccer?

When my son was growing up, he played a lot of pickup, and it was always with kids he met through MS and HS soccer, not club.

Please don’t share locations where people play pickup/street games on here. Let’s try to avoid having cops called on kids who just want to play soccer by Karens who are using covid guidelines as their crutch.

Is the indoor spot in Rockville open yet? They had drop in games for like $10 per day. Pick up games winner stays on.

Why is pick up soccer against CDC guidelines? VA Governor's office said that matches are allowed to be played, so I assume pick up soccer is fine.

I believe they are still closed.

Oh, I'd forgot about that. There goes my great idea.

Hope you're able to work something out.
