July 4th on National Mall - who is going?

Absolutely not.

That's a NOPE!

My fiend Darwin is also attending.

Hmmm let me think.

It’s 100 degrees out, and I’d be sweating balls under my mask that wouldn’t even protect me from the unmasked MAGA chuds as I mingle with the basest, dumbest, most racist and ignorant trash America has to offer,

That'll be a NO from me.

Post of the day

There’s also an inversion forecasted. Firework smoke sill stay closer to the ground degrading visibility and air quality.
Sounds completely awful.
Anonymous
Hell to the no.

Have you ever been? It's not "fine" on the mall.

NP. We went once. I agree with pp. The event itself isn't bad. Though dh and I went as newlyweds, so it was just the two of us at the time. I would not want to be on the mall with little kids. Getting home was absolutely miserable though. That was a "one and done" sort of event. I have zero plans to ever do it again.

Absolutely!

Love my country my adopted homeland that has given me so much opportunity I could never have where I came from (Chile).

I love to celebrate our country’s birthday. It is beautiful.

Nope. And I am pretty relaxed about concerns over the virus. But even then it just sounds absolutely disastrous. Throw in heat + masks + crowds + metro and you couldn’t pay me for the pleasure of going.

I've gone many times and mostly agree with the PP. There's enough room that you ought to be able to find a spot where you're sufficiently far from others.

Now, getting in and out of there is another story. Even with smaller crowds than usual, I don't see how you'll be able to avoid being on top of one another.

If you loved America you would be avoiding crowds during a pandemic. Not following guidelines is making America FAIL. How is that patriotic?

LOL, no. It's impossible to squeeze in a blanket after evening begins, and even if you do find a spot, people just keep crowding in. I seriously doubt you or the PP above has ever been.
