| We are afraid to go out at night around the fourth. The next day, the streets in our neighborhood are so burnt by the explosives that it looks like the space shuttle took off. |
Jason Pierre Paul was thinking the exact same thing, five years ago tomorrow |

And that’s his tough luck. You want to protect a grown man from himself? |
A nine year old kid blew his finger off today. FU. Fireworks are for stupid people |

How did the 9 year old get the firework? Where were his parents?!
We have fireworks on our cul-de-sac properly handled by adults and all over before 10pm. My kids are 18 but it's still the parents who set them off . |
DC man dies after suffering firework injuries https://wtop.com/dc/2020/07/dc-man-dies-suffering-firework-injuries/ You truly are a despicable moron. |
|
I live in MoCo, where fireworks are not legal, but that didn't stop morons from lighting off fireworks until 2 am.
And I'm not talking about your average bottle rocket and roman candle types of fireworks. They were huge, loud fireworks. The type you need a permit for in legal districts. A group of about 8 kids decided to reenact Fort McHenry last night in a neighborhood church parking lot. They had a huge box that they set up in the middle of the lot and shot off all sorts of rockets red blares. I called the police, but never heard a siren all night long. I guess they have been defunded. |
|
Clearly the comment was not about setting them off at 2am. We're talking 8:45pm - 10pm on July 4th in a well paved area away from homes (at least if they're the "illegal" kind that shoot up into the air). Yes, the people that set them off late at night are jerks. |

Celebrating Independence Day with fireworks in places where it’s been made illegal is THE most American thing a person can do. It embodies the exact sentiment of the very founding of this country - a rejection of authority, and the people taking their freedoms back to do those things which they decide are right for them.
As long as the people still have the spirit to reject laws like that, there is still a little spark of Revolution carried on among us. If a day ever comes where that spark of rebellion goes out, then we are truly lost as a nation. Long live the illegal use of fireworks! |
Stupid is as stupid does. The nine-year old learned a valuable lesson. |
| Why not?!!? I think bottle rockets and such should be illegal unless you have more land, but otherwise fireworks are great! |
| Because they are fun. And can be used safely (I'm not saying they always ARE used safely, but people don't HAVE to maim themselves if they aren't idiots about it). |
