Yes or No: Do you trust your teammates parents re: Covid?

As for trusting other parents. Why would you trust the health of your child to stranglers? Their expectations, life perspective and priorities mighst be completely different than your own.

On the first point, I don't think that's going to fly if parents can be out there. And if they are, I certainly won't let it fly in front of kids.

On the second point, the question wasn't whether you should, it's whether you do, and with the particular parents on my child's team, I do, and don't have any problem or worry on that front. I wouldn't be upset if I could not, but I probably wouldn't want to spend any time talking to people like that. I don't think they'll be much talking for a while in any event, so it matters not.

I trust them as much as I trust the parents at my kids' school. No!

See this is the parent who will shut down travel soccer. You know if their kid is sick that kid will be at practice and the game.

The reality is you have been trusting these parents for years. There are a great many communicable diseases that could be dangerous. The best thing that a club can do is watch, listen, and self police. If you dont feel comfortable, keep your kid home.

Trust or not, you live in society and will have to deal with it. Or, you can live in a bubble. Your choice.

I don't. I think most of us want life to be "normal" again, are experiencing job/childcare hardship, or can't be bothered anymore. I already have numerous examples of ways (for example, come to find one member of the family is quarantining due to exposure, but the rest of the family is out and about).

Over 1/2 of our team was doing private sessions and pickup soccer during the locked down. No way would I trust any of them.

Known most of the parents for years. Know some won’t send to school but will do soccer bc safer outside. Coach is older and very serious about covid and the procedures

But yes there are more risks when we get to games. Until the games start, less concerns.

The parents who claim things like "minimal risk to the kids" and "stop living in fear" are the parents I'm concerned about. They spend more time trying to minimize the risk and being far to casual about the risk. They are the ones who will tell you to "just stay home if you're scared" as well.

Well, if people take the risks seriously, wear masks, social distance, keep unnecessary social interactions to a minimum most people won't have to make the decision to stay home.

Exactly. And we have no idea what the long term effects on kids with covid will be, even if they have no symptoms.

These people are the reason states are still in partial lockdown. If people took this more seriously at the beginning we'd be on the downward slide, but there are all these crazies who are looking for COVID parties and having playdates in the middle of lockdown because "whatever". So annoying we're in this state because of so many idiots while other countries are coming out of it.

No, for one or two parents (who have said stuff like "it's no big deal", and "everyone should just get it and be over with it")

I think it's no big deal. I still wouldn't send a kid showing flu-like symptoms to a practice.
