How to stop the inter-room shouting

Ooh wallow talkies might work. OP here. My biggest problem is that we have neighbors and my 4 year old has extreme stamina for screaming. I truly can’t let it go without being a horrible neighbor.

Ugh I grew up in a house like this and it wasn't until I got married that I realized how annoying and terrible it is. My parents live near us and will shout to each other and us when we're at their house or vice versa and it drives me insane. Now I don't answer them unless they're right in front of me.

Same here. My parents put them in during a remodel and we never used them.
