are we still morally obligated to pay for daycare?

My daycare operated by a non profit tries the same thing. No payment for daycare but donate to this general fund with no promise it would go toward paying staff. Nope! We donated elsewhere but didn’t like that they wouldn’t promise to pay staff.

Don’t pay. If DH’s job is uncertain you can’t afford to.
