The purpose of this email is to share with you a variety of summer learning opportunities for students. These are completely optional and virtual, and will be available from July 13-31. Summer Program Registration Incoming Grade 1, 2, and 3 Summer Program Selections: Math Boost - This is available for all students covering core math content (8:30-9:20 or 9:30-10:20) ELA Boost - This is available for all students covering core reading and language arts content (8:30-9:20 or 9:30-10:20) Welcome to the Wonderful World of Coding! - Students will receive an introduction to coding and other computer science principles (10:30-11:20) Authors, Authors Everywhere! - Students will explore the work of several children’s authors – including both their writer’s craft and their illustrations – and then create their own renditions in the authors’ styles. (10:30-11:20) Let's Breathe Together: Mindfulness and Yoga Time - Students will practice mindfulness concepts daily, and stretch with yoga, as well as learn about other ways to stay well and maintain a healthy lifestyle. (9:30-10:20) ELC Writing Grade 4 - This is available for students identified to participate in ELC next year. Experience a world of fantasy through writing! Students will create fantasy worlds, characters, and plot-twists in a writer's workshop setting write an original fantasy story through the use of interactive digital and hands-on activities, games, and peer collaboration. This camp pairs well with the ELC 4 Fantastic Fantasy Boost Camp: Reading. (10:30-11:20) ELC Reading Grade 5 - This is available for students already participating in the ELC curriculum in Grade 4. Calling all sleuths! Students will engage in reading whodunnits to explore the fiction genre of mysteries. Neither have we (as an income 3rd grade family). I was wondering if maybe they didn’t have contact information for us, as we are new to the school (coming from Rosemary Hills), or if current families also have not heard about summer options. |
