Are the meters free or do you still have to pay?
Assuming you still have to pay to park, someone needs to empty the meters and check them regularily to make sure they are working. The general public also loves to call the Police about neighbors parked facing the wrong way, neighbor has expired tags, car has been parked in front of their house and they don't know who it belongs to.....etc etc. Parking Enf has to respond to all these calls. |
When did progressive start to mean that you had to be anti vehicle? A progressive person can no longer exercise choice in the vehicle they drive? Or is there some sort of progressive litmus test and somebody who metro's into Bethesda is more progressive? Where do I find the badges? |
You can drive whatever you want. What you can't do is park wherever you want, for free. |

Parking enforcement is the ultimate 'progressive' tax. You only pay for it if you use it.
The only bad part about parking enforcement is that eventually as people stop driving, the tax will have to be replaced by something else as we never run out reasons to spend taxes. I am sure that our next step will be to more effectively tax e-bikes, e-scooters etc. |
What I was doing in Bethesda was picking up food from a restaurant so I can support the small local businesses. What I did not like was seeing a parking enforcement person ticket a car, literally the only car on the block. That car maybe belonged to a worker or maybe someone who went for a walk on the crescent trail and lost track of time. Hey Holier than thou, its a crappy time and people like you who are so smug make it crappier. Its time to give people a break. Parking enforcement is NOT essential period. |
All you have to do to not get a parking ticket is: not park illegally. |
Progressive people can only drive a Prius with a "COEXIST" bumper sticker. Bonus if they have a fading Hillary 2016 sticker as well. |
I NEVER park next to Prius cars. Their owners simply do not respect other peoples cars. They assume that everyone has plastic cars like their own and that their doors will not damage your car when they or their kids open their car doors into yours. If you want less stress in your life in the parking lot, avoid parking next to any variant of Prius. |
| I also got hit with one of these $45 fines- just for parking for dinner and not expecting to have them place the ticket at 25 minutes after the "standard" hour. Pay for at least one extra hour downtown Bethesda!! |
