Why won’t Target deliver to my zip code?

Anonymous
They haven’t shipped high demand cleaning products anywhere locally since this all started. Sometimes you can get wipes from Amazon, if you time it just right (look for the Solimo brand). I think they don’t get enough to fill orders consistently. Target simply ships from stores not a central warehouse. I occasionally get packages shipped from Alabama and North Dakota.

Not shipping to Camrillo, Calif either! Must have a problem with Website as other stores don't have a problem! Just ordered from Wallmart!

Just go to the store.

I was at target last weekend and the shelf was full of Lysol wipes as well a some other brands.

Target cancels my orders to 20910.

yes it’s this. I just had this problem with a toy. I sent them an email and they said it’s out of stock. Why it doesn’t just say that I don’t know.......

It means that they can't make enough money to deliver to people in certain zip codes, so too bad for us. This is really, really bad customer service.

"Just go to the store" doesn't apply to all of us. We don't all have stores nearby, which is why we order online. Target has given us the f---off.

Something is going on with Target and shipping. I've been ordering dry goods via shipping (not pick up or same day deliver) for months. Cereal, oatmeal, granola bars, pasta, even canned goods. This week, however, nothing is available for shipping. (I'm zip code 20814). I wonder if there is an issue with the warehouse serving our two zip codes, OP? It seems odd that everything that I've been buying for months is "no longer available".

If you hover over it, it says, "We work hard to offer the same selection to all our guests, but some items this holiday season aren’t available for shipping to your zip code." I was ready to scream at the website. Plus, I was ordering on a computer, and you have to have their app to switch to curbside delivery.

You can still clean without wipes. Plenty of other products out there. Vinegar, bleach, etc all still work just fine and are easy to find.

FWIW, they also won’t deliver boy’s pants or Christmas lights to 20008. Guess I have to funnel more money to amazon.

This. It's distribution not some grand conspiracy

Yup.

The way these mail delivery services (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc) work is that they have certain distribution warehouses or delivery points. When your distribution source is out, they stop delivering to your zip code unless the source is replenished. They don't spend money to move shipments from warehouse to warehouse, they just wait until your distribution point is refreshed and then they will deliver to your zip code again. But if you live in a dense area like Montgomery County, especially one that is denser with higher income density, then you may find this happening more because your locale is purchasing things from their warehouse faster than they can stock and restock popular items. They can increase the requested items, but they are at the mercy of the distribution source to deliver more of the product to that warehouse.

It’s not only wipes. I can’t get most items delivered to my zip code and either can relatives in another state. I buy more from Walmart now for basic household supplies and Amazon for everything else.

I don't think it's a specific problem with your zipcode. We are trying to order Christmas gifts for the kids that is mostly only available at Target and EVERYTHING we try to order says "not available to ship to your zipcode," so we've had friends and family in several states try for us and they get the same messaging. Everything keeps telling us we can pick up in store only (everything from toys to packs of underwear).

Really annoying. I think Target is going to lose money this season by trying to force people to go in store as the pandemic gets worse. I hate giving business to Walmart, but there's no issue with shipping from them.
