Is anyone actually committing to Fall 2020 soccer season?

No. We are not. My last payment for both kids hits June 1st.

I’m not putting any $ down for next year.

They are rising U13 and U16. Both started on first teams at a good EDP club.

All in. Understand completely if others aren't. I think the average quality will go up substantially so long as scholarship kids continue to get funded at same levels, which is doubtful given the departure of a lot of wealthier families.

Yes, but club not asking for money

Frankly we could stand one good thing to happen to us about now. I'm willing to take a chance that this is a good thing given that our club has a pay as you go plan.

They have zoom practice all the time with the coach and team and it’s wonderful - it’s the 4-6 hours a week where my daughter is engaged with friends and is enhancing her skills and fitness. Most of her team is coming back - with everything else in flux, I appreciate the consistency!

??? I would think wealthy families are more inclined to keep paying. A few grand down the drain is no sweat for them. Those under economic pressure will be more likely to wait until the end of summer to commit and pay or may even wait and plan to sign back up over winter if next Spring looks promising.

Leaving. Both kids are interested in pursuing other sports so the timing works.

It’s not economics. It’s plastic bubble syndrome.

We definitely have plastic bubble syndrome. We don’t think it’s worth risking our DD’s life. I know what I’m saying is not popular especially in this forum. To us, loosing a year of soccer is by far better than potentially a lifetime of regretting a bad decision.

I would be surprised if public schools will reopen this a Fall either.

Not judging. But if your kid is in school, the incremental risk from outdoor soccer, already near zero, really nears zero. Guess we won’t see your kid heading off to West Point anytime soon either. Which is fine.

Aren't they going to still charge regardless? Whether fall is delayed it not?

Sorry nevermind. Just saw your response above.

I joined a club back in January to play for them in the Spring. The club has already set a commitment date; and like others guaranteed the existing kids a spot on the team. However, the only thing that's making me hesitant to commit is they have "no refund" written in the waiver. I mean, do I take the chance and commit to the 10 month payment plan or should I just wait until after summer to see if we will actually have a season. I mean, if we are not playing in the fall, then what am I paying for besides training?
