When can we expect an update on DC's reopening?

Tuesday's seven-day average was the lowest since the first week of April and marked the eighth straight day of decline.

Is DC using hospitalizations and death rate as part of their metrics, similar to MD?

Actual statistics instead of anonymous message-board claims show the overall hospitalization rates to be in decline.

Oh, if your friend said that then there must be a surge. Just stop.

I never said there was a surge, but just relaying what my friend who works there said. I don't know why you are offended. I didn't say all hospitals. Just one. The situation can change you know. Numbers can fluctuate. jfc

DC allegedly is testing more, so the sheer number of positive tests should be going up. Yet:

Josh Dawsey
@jdawsey1
DC new coronavirus cases over the past week, per City Hall:
Wednesday, May 6: 193
Thursday, May 7: 245
Friday, May 8 : 203
Saturday, May 9 : 170
Sunday, May 10: 117
Monday, May 11 : 96
Tuesday, May 12 : 99

But yes, let's try to convince people that the numbers are surging.

I guess this means we can all take off our masks and throw parties. I'm sure numbers won't go up again.

This is because of systemic racism. The mayor is not responsible for that.

Everyone is out and about. Few masks. Driving is up 3O percent week over week.

Let’s experiment and see what happens.

No one here is saying this, but nice strawman.

Are you the same poster who has the friend that works at GW?

You need help.

????

I don't know where you are, but in my neck of the woods, people are wearing masks in all stores, when picking up takeout, and often when walking around outside. And everyone I know is still staying home except for exercise and getting food.

Good lord, I hope not.

It looks like several countries who lifted restrictions two weeks ago are re locking down after spikes followed opening. South Korea says that they opened up too quickly and is shutting down again.
