| I've experienced the weight loss whoosh. It is glorious. I'm currently experiencing the weight gain whoosh. I thought I was staying on top of monitoring changes, even with far less physical activity and far more snacking. Passed the mirror check and clothing check each day. Then one morning -- whoosh. Huge butt and tummy spilling over waistband out of nowhere. |
| I definitely experience this and it really bothers me. |
Op here—what you described in your last sentence is exactly what compelled me to write this post! Currently working on being more mindful

It is because you get period spaced four weeks apart.. and before the period you get bloated and heavy and you not only not loosing any weight but you can hold to extra 2 to 5 lbs without event trying. This gradually gets shade off. So you might be confusing delays with the period cycle.
OP.. check PMS .. sluggish, tired.. bloated.. weight gain.

BTW..t his is mostly water weight. Avoid salt and let go.. this is the nature cycle.. you will drop it post period only to get it the next month back.. Best policy, not to check the scale during PMS |
| After grad school, I had to lose the 20 lbs I'd gained working full time and doing grad school part time. (and eating on the run, and barely exercising.) I lost 20 lbs in 20 weeks, but it seemed to come off in 5 lb chunks. So I'd see NOTHING, no loss, for a few weeks, and then all of a sudden, 5 lbs gone. This happened 4-5 times. So I learned not to be frustrated by the lack of progress on the scale. |
